1. Can humidity pack come into direct contact with cigars/tobacco?
→ Yes, absolutely. The outer membrane of 2-way humidity control pack is food-grade and non-toxic.
The interior consists of pure water and a saturated salt solution, with specific salt formulations engineered to maintain precise Relative Humidity (RH) levels (58%/62%/65%/69%/72%, etc.).
The outer pouch of humidity pack is made of a semi-permeable polymer film that allows only water vapor molecules to pass through. The salt solution and impurities remain sealed inside, making it safe for direct contact with your stored items.
2. Can I use multiple packs at once?
→ Yes, you can't over-humidify. Using more 2 way humidity packs will not exceed the target RH; it will simply extend the lifespan of the packs.
However, we recommend starting with the minimum suggested quantity. As a general guide: one 60g humidity control pack corresponds to approximately 25–50 cigars (or ~0.7–1kg of items); one 8g small humidity pack is suitable for 5 cigars or a small airtight jar.
3. Is the pack broken if it starts to inflate?
→ No, this is normal. Slight swelling indicates the pack is actively absorbing excess moisture from the environment. This is a sign humidity pack is working correctly. However, if it remains abnormally inflated, it may indicate an extremely humid environment or a poorly sealed container.
Replacement Signal: When the two way humidity pack transitions from soft and pliable to hard and brittle/dried out, its moisture reservoir is depleted. Typical lifespan is 2–4 months, depending on the seal quality of your container.
4. Can I puncture it and add water to reuse it?
→ Do not puncture. Never tear or pierce the outer membrane; simply remove the retail plastic outer wrapper before use.
No Refilling: These packs are not designed for rehydration. Adding water will compromise the precision of the RH level and may introduce contaminants or bacteria, risking damage to your valuables.
