The core principle of two-way humidity control packs is using a saturated salt solution + semi-permeable membrane to automatically release or absorb moisture vapor, locking the enclosed space at a calibrated RH value (e.g., 62%, 65%, 69%, 72%, 75%, 84%, etc.) without over-humidifying or drying out your contents.
Here are the applicable environment of humidity control packs:
Condition 1: Must be in an airtight/near-airtight container
Airtight food storage containers (Tupperware/tupperdors), acrylic humidors, sealed bags, instrument cases, etc. Ineffective in open spaces; the poorer the seal, the faster it depletes.
Condition 2: Room temperature & away from light
Ideal temperature approx. 15–21°C (60–70°F). Keep away from heat sources like radiators, direct sunlight, and stoves. High heat disrupts humidity balance and increases mold risk.
Condition 3: Away from odor sources
Cigars/herbs are sensitive to smells; do not store near spices, cleaning agents, etc.
⚠️ In a word, 2 way humidity control pack is not designed to "humidify an entire room." It only controls RH within a localized, enclosed micro-environment.
